My Practice

Music came before medicine for me.

I began playing the piano by ear at three years old, before I ever had a lesson. Music was something I understood intuitively from a very young age, and it eventually led me to study music at the University of Chicago alongside my pre-medical studies. I always knew, too, that I wanted to become a physician.

Those two paths may seem very different, but to me, they have always belonged together.

My medical training gave me the scientific foundation to understand disease, evaluate evidence, recognize patterns, and make sound clinical decisions. Music shaped another part of me — the part that listens closely, notices subtleties, and understands that sometimes the smallest details can change the whole picture.

That combination shapes the way I practice medicine today. The evidence may tell us what works for most people; the art of medicine is understanding how to apply that evidence to the person sitting in front of me.

And practicing medicine this way requires something increasingly difficult to find in traditional healthcare: time.

Time to listen. Time to ask another question. Time to think. Time to understand how the pieces fit together.

I created this practice to give my patients — and myself — that time. It's not just about having more time on the calendar — it's about actually slowing down inside that time: not rushing to the next thought, not watching the clock, letting a visit unfold the way it needs to. By caring for a smaller number of patients, I can bring the full breadth of my training, judgment, and attention to each person and provide care that is thoughtful, individualized, and deeply personal.

In that slower pace, I've rediscovered the joy in medicine — the reason I wanted to become a doctor in the first place. I created this practice hoping to help you rediscover that same joy in your own health and your own life.

Science provides the knowledge. The art is knowing you.
